beIN enlarges pay-TV footprint in Spain with La Liga channel Juan Fernandez Gonzalez

beIN Media Group and Mediapro have launched beIN La Liga, the second pay-TV network owned by the Qatari company in Spain.
bein laligaFollowing the acquisition of the largest package of La Liga pay-TV rights, the companies have programmed a network with eight live La Liga games per week - always including one from FC Barcelona or Real Madrid and one El Clásico – as well as almost every game of the Copa del Rey, although the semi-finals and the final will also air on Mediapro’s free-to-air (FTA) channel GOL.
Not many details have been unveiled by beIN Media, but it has been also announced that former football players Raúl González and Michael Laudrup will be part of the commentator team.
The channel, which promises 24-hour football-related programming in HD, is the second beIN network in Spain, after the launch of beIN SPORTS in 2015, which has the TV rights for the Champions League.
beIN La Liga will likely be distributed by Spain’s largest pay-TV providers, including Telefónica’s Movistar+, Vodafone and Orange.
