New science channel to launch in Germany

Welt der Wunder (World of Wonders), a German science and knowledge TV show, is to launch its own TV channel.
Welt der Wunder TV will go on air on 16 October 2013 as an advertising-financed free-to-air service on Astra (19.2° East) in the ORS digital package on the frequency 12.663 GHz H (SR 22,000, FEC 5/6).
The channel, which will also gradually be rolled out on cable networks in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, will show documentaries, reports and other programmes 24 hours a day covering science, research, innovations, industrial developments and topics from day-to-day life and society.
