Boomerang HD to launch in Germany

Pay-TV channel Boomerang will offer its programmes in high definition in Germany from 3 December with the first carriage partner being Kabel Deutschland.
Boomerang HD will be available on Germany's largest cable network on the subscription package Premium HD with no additional fees. The bouquet will then contain a total of 17 HD channels.
Boomerang screens cartoons and animated movies with well-known characters such as Bugs Bunny, Tom & Jerry, Lucky Luke and The Flintstones. New productions are also part of the schedule, for example the German TV debut of pre-school series Doozers, a spin-off of Jim Henson's legendary series Fraggle Rock, award-winning Icelandic children's series Lazy Town and original productions such as the fairytale show Cartoonito Märchenstunde with German actress Cosma Shiva Hagen.
Turner Broadcasting System Deutschland (TBS), the parent company of the children's and family channel, signed a carriage deal with Kabel Deutschland for the distribution of Boomerang HD and further TBS channels in autumn 2011.
