International broadcaster Chello Zone has inked a deal with international distribution company New Media Vision and Jordle Productions to acquire the educational animation series Snapatoonies.
The programme will premiere on Chello Zone’s children’s channel JimJam and is aimed at youngsters up to five, encouraging preschool children to develop skills in communication, language, reading, maths and general knowledge.
“As mothers, we wanted our children to have the best possible learning material as we firmly believe that the first four years of learning are critical for children’s success, commented Snapatoonies creators Lee and Jordi Brighton. “Unable to find a programme that delivered all the learning material we knew would give our children the head-start we believed they deserved, we decided to make our own TV series. We are passionate about sharing this wonderful interactive learning experience with children all over the world”.
The series is set to launch across all JimJam feeds, starting with the Asian feed in October and the Italian, Benelux and Polish feeds following soon after in November. The Pan European and Middle Eastern feeds will follow suit in 2014.
“Snapatoonies will be a great addition to the channel,” said JimJam channel manager, Charlotte Wood. “Using proven techniques to encourage learning, such as slow animation, positive reinforcement and interactive question-asking, the series’ focus is on learning in an engaging and creative way without losing any of the fun. Launching on all feeds, we’re delighted that this universally educational platform will be available on JimJam first, across EMEA.”
