Qatar-based broadcaster beIN has won the exclusive rights to broadcast Wimbledon across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), completing its collection of all four Grand Slam tennis events.
beINAlready home to live action from the US Open, Australian Open and Roland Garros, beIN also airs content from the ATP and WTA tours via its pay-TV platform. Subscribers can also watch on mobile devices via beIN’s over-the-top (OTT) product, beIN CONNECT.
“beIN will continue to pursue excellence in sports broadcast even as we expand our platform to appeal to the whole family. Tennis is a very popular game in the region and it appeals to both men and women. It’s important for us to have sports that are household favourites,” said Yousef Al-Obaidly, deputy CEO, beIN Media Group.
“We are proud to have all the four grand slams on our platform and are thankful to Wimbledon for partnering with us and placing their trust in our ability to do the absolutely best for this prestigious global event.”
