MTV South Europe and MTV Latin America are signing their first international project to bring back the reality show franchise Shore, which is now to be set in Ibiza, following Jersey Shore, Geordie Shore, Warsaw Shore, Gandía Shore and the latest, Acapulco Shore.
The show's new version, which is to be produced by Magnolia TV, the company responsible for Survivors in Spain, will count on participants from previous Spanish-speaking editions, although most of the details have not yet been unveiled.
“We are very happy to announce the Shore franchise is back; we are going to put together the best of Gandía Shore and Acapulco Shore and add some more surprises”, said Laura Abril, VP of Youth and Music Brands at Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) for South Europe, Middle East and Africa. “Ibiza is an amazing place and a Mediterranean icon, and the participants are there to enjoy the island”.
Tiago Worcman, senior VP for music brands at VIMN Americas, added: “We are delighted to announce the first co-production between MTV Latin America and MTV South Europe for Ibiza Shore.”
Ibiza's edition will be the fifth version of the show, which started in the US and the UK 10 years ago.
In addition to the co-production, which is to be premiered in Latin America and Spain, Viacom has also announced Acapulco Shore will have a second season on MTV Latin America and the first one will soon arrive on MTV Spain
