Discovery committed to Russia
Aleksandr Zharov, the head of the Russian regulator Roskomnadzor, has met with the senior management of Discovery Communications.
In a statement, Roskomnadzor says that Discovery was represented by JB Perrette, the president of Discovery Networks International; Kasia Kieli, the president and MD of Discovery Networks CEEMEA; and Olga Paskina, senior VP and general manager of Discovery Networks in North East Europe.
It adds that the meeting discussed issues related to the application of new rules in Russian legislation on the participation of foreign citizens and organisations in the Russian media.
The Discovery representatives said they were interested in continuing the development of their business in Russia and confirmed their intention to restructure it in accordance with Russian law.
