Google sold 10 million Chromecasts worldwide
Although Google has so far not issued any number for sales of its Chromecast HDMI-dongle, Google Korea said that ten million devices have been sold worldwide.
The figure was revealed by the Korean Times. According to Google, more than 6,000 developers are actively developing more than 10,000 cast-enabled apps across Android, iOS, and Chrome.
Chromecast now supports more than 350 apps and services, including YouTube, Tving and Hoppin in Korea.
During last week’s Q4 2014 earnings conference call Google Chief Business Officer Omid Kordestani said: ““Chromecast usage per device has increased by 60% since launch, due to a growing roster of new apps and features. In 2014 Chromecast was the number one selling streaming media device in the US.”
