Eurosport Group nets Romanian rights to Premier League

Pan European sporting broadcaster Eurosport has hit the net in Romania after inking an agreement with the English Premier League to broadcast live and exclusive coverage of the world's most popular football league until 2016.
The deal secures rights in Romania for the remainder of the 2013/14 season, and the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons and the broadcaster's local operation will broadcast live Premier League matches on every match day. The coverage will also feature extensive highlights of all matches starring the likes of Liverpool's Luis Suárez and Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney of Manchester United, Manchester City's Sergio Agüero and Arsenal's record-breaking signing Mesut Özil.
The Eurosport Group has also acquired all Internet and mobile broadcast rights meaning football fans in Romania can watch live matches via the Eurosport Player, the company’s online simulcast service on PCs, mobile, tablets and connected TVs. All access to Barclays Premier League coverage will be geo-targeted to users in Romania.

Premier League chief executive, Richard Scudamore, added: “Eurosport has invested in Premier League broadcasting rights in the past and we are extremely pleased to be working with them again. It has an excellent track record in sports broadcasting and I am sure it will deliver a premium offering that will showcase the Barclays Premier League to football fans in Romania.”
