Indian on-demand video service BoxTV is introducing a number of subscription plans to encourage viewers onto the online content platform, starting with a weekend package and culminating with an annual one.
The Times Internet-owned online streaming service says the new three-day plan is for those who only wish to access premium content over the weekend. A seven-day pack and a 15-day one have now been added to the monthly subscription plan, along with the option of mobile payment for those without credit cards. A deduction will be made directly from the user's mobile account for the content viewed.
"Since inception, we received several requests from our users to provide multiple plans and payment options, and that is exactly what we have introduced. With the introduction of new subscription packs, the BoxTV service will cater to all segments of users looking for a suitable service which provides flexibility in terms of payment and a seamless movie watching experience," said Pandurang Nayak, business head, BoxTV.
"The mobile payments will allow users without credit cards to watch premium content on BoxTV, thereby increasing our overall user base."
Prices range from INR49 for a three-day pack to INR150 for a 15-day pack. Those in it for the long-term will still need to pay by credit card: INR199 for a monthly plan or INR1,499 for a yearly plan.
