The Spanish pay-TV channel Canal+ is to launch a new premium channel dedicated to series, on which some productions will be premiered at the same time as they are in the US.
With this announcement, the platform aims to meet the demand of its customers and fans of series, while increasing its premium catalogue.
All of Canal+ series will be premiered on the new channel, which will air in December. The new channel aims to become a meeting point for series enthusiasts, and the entire schedule will be related to the genre. There will be special programmes, series without dubbing, making-ofs, news and marathons.
The channel, which will broadcast in HD, will be also available through Yomvi, Canal+'s online, on-demand and TV everywhere platform.
Canal+ has recently been increasing its offer in order to diversify its audience, focusing on Yomvi, which has seen an increase of customers. Despite this, the pay-TV service is losing subscribers, and Prisa still intends to sell it when a good enough offer comes along.
