La Liga scores with first ever football match broadcast live on Facebook Editor

La Liga FacebookIts teams may dominate European football, but La Liga’s ambitions are now spreading to the wider world through social media, namely Facebook.
The Spanish football league has announced that in partnership with beIN Sports, the competition's official broadcaster in Spain, the social network is to offer the unique experience of the first live football match, the clash between Athlético Madrid Women vs Athletic Club. The match to be shown at facebook.com/LaLiga at 11.45am CET on Saturday 28 May, will not be subject to any geoblocking and will be available in every country in the world.
La Liga has made a huge play on new broadcasting channels and days ago announced that the official YouTube channel of the Spanish football league will broadcast the various World Challenge tours which take place at the end of the season, as well as games from the prestigious La Liga Promises tournament.
For its part, beIN SPORTS has just announced a US network ratings spike for April 2016, citing international football as the key programming that out-delivered rivals.
