La Liga spreads the word of 4KTV at Sportel Asia

The senior management behind Spain's La Liga is aiming to reinforce the football league’s global presence at Sportel Asia and will stress how it it is investing in value-added content and Ultra HD sports broadcasting.

la liga sportelDuring the international sports convention in Singapore, Ignacio Martínez Trujillo, director of innovation at La Liga will be on a panel discussing virtual reality, 4K broadcasting and the future of sports content, and will be speaking about how the latest broadcasting and video technologies are changing sports and opening up new business opportunities.

Indeed, football programming has recently become the springboard for Spain's Ultra HD industry.

In addition, Javier Tebas, La Liga's president, will give a lecture about adding value to sports TV rights, explaining how the Spanish football competition has changed through the years, offering fans new ways of consuming content. This is the same strategy that has led to La Liga becoming the first football competition in the world to achieve over one million followers on YouTube.

In addition, La Liga will be represented at Sportel Asia by former football players Christian Karembeu and Fernando Sanz, La Liga's director for the Middle East, and Shen Yanfei, Chinese table tennis player, now part of the Spanish national team.
