German Bundesliga starts international rights tender
Around one year ahead of the expiration of the current contracts, DFL Sports Enterprises has
announced the tender of the international audiovisual media rights of Germany’s domestic football league Bundesliga for more than 50 European and neighbouring territories.
The 100% subsidiary of German football association Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) plans to allocate the media rights for the seasons from 2017/18 to 2020/21 in the forthcoming weeks.
Not part of the tender are the domestic media rights for Germany which will be awarded by DFL as part of a separate tender.
The tender of the international media rights covers all games of the first and second division Bundesliga as well as all relegation play-offs and Supercup matches. The rights will be offered exclusively per territory. Bids can also be submitted on a pan-European package.
Registration for the tender is now open for interested parties. The approved participants will receive the tender documents from February 12, 2016.
