Mathias Blüm becomes vice president digital media and takes over the leadership of the digital unit at Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) in Northern Europe.
In his new position, effective since November 1, 2014, Blüm is responsible for the development of the digital business as well as the implementation of overall digital strategies for the entire VIMN portfolio including its core brands MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and VIVA in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway.
Based at VIMN’s Berlin office, Blüm’s tasks also include the development of potential partnerships and the creation and deployment of new locally adapted strategies. He will directly report to Magnus Kastner, executive vice president and managing director of VIMN Northern Europe.
Blüm is co-founder and former CEO of German online video marketing company Clipkit. The 43-year-old engineer previously worked in the management of RTL’s German video portal Clipfish.de. Former employers include Lycos, Fireball and Gruner + Jahr.
