Africabox launches OTT service

Africabox, a pay-TV network for sub-Saharan Africa, is now available as an over-the-top (OTT) video service via computer, smartphone or tablet.
The network, which has been available on IPTV networks since 2009, includes music channel Africabox TV and the recently added cinema and fiction channel Africabox Séries.
Programmes from both channels will now be available as OTT video, either live or on-demand, thanks to a partnership between Africabox and digital media specialist TDF Media Services.
"Our comprehensive offer, which includes content acquisition for channels, transcoding, catalogue management, and content delivery network, allowed us to offer Africabox a turnkey solution," said Michael Da-Silva, business development manager, TDF Media Services.
The Africabox channels can be viewed on all digital devices, with subscriptions starting at €3.99 per month.
