iStreamPlanet launches Atlas DRM service Joseph O'Halloran

Live streaming and OTT services provider iStreamPlanet has unveiled a new DRM cloud service to enable customers to securely deliver media to millions of users on a number of playback devices.
Atlas DRM 15 April 2016The new Atlas DRM will be available from 1 May and will include built-in integration to iStreamPlanet’s Aventus media processing platform and third-party packaging solutions. It will aim to provide a complete solution for content encoding and security for both live streaming and video-on-demand (VOD) services.
As a cloud service, Atlas DRM is designed to scale to handle large numbers of concurrent users for high-demand content without the need to purchase additional on-premise appliances. The service was also built to sustain high availability operation and is deployed across multiple geographic regions.
Atlas DRM is available worldwide and is supported by iStreamPlanet’s 24x7 operations centre and will enable Apple FairPlay, Adobe Primetime, Microsoft PlayReady and Google Widevine solutions.
It supports industry standard DRM technologies, including Apple FairPlay, Microsoft PlayReady, Adobe Primetime and Google Widevine. Integration with player applications is achieved using SDKs from the industry standard DRM technologies. Atlas DRM uses standard security foundations such as the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), along with the Sample-AES packaging standards.
