In a further part of its strategy to ensure that its popular content is accessible even to non-subscribers, BSkyB has widened the availability of NOW TV.
Specifically, the UK pay-TV behemoth has made its NOW TV Box available in Argos and Curry’s PC World stores across the country, with John Lewis to follow in the coming weeks.
The NOW TV Box — available on a standalone basis online via the NOW TV website priced at £9.99 — comes with a wide range of apps, providing access to a host of Sky entertainment on the main TV set, plus service.
Customers are able to choose from either a £14.99 or £24.99 three-month Sky Movies Pass. The former provides unlimited access to all six Sky Sports channels, potentially including Barclays Premier League and UEFA Champions League football for 24 hours, while the latter enables viewers to watch the latest and biggest blockbuster movies. Customers can access NOW TV through, with the ability to register up to four devices to watch on the move as well as in the home.
“The NOW TV Box lets customers instantly transform their regular TV into a Smart TV, and these brand new bundles make it even easier for people to access great live sport and the biggest and best movies on their main TV,” commented Gidon Katz, director of NOW TV. Katz also hinted that the move was the beginning of a major drive to ramp up sales in the pre-Christmas period.
