Dailymotion opens subsidiary in Japan

Dailymotion has opened a new subsidiary in Japan, Dailymotion Japan KK. Based in Tokyo, the new team will develop partnerships with local content providers and advertisers.
With more than 11 million unique visitors per month, Japan is Dailymotion’s third largest market behind France and the US with a strong audience growth in mobile in 2013.
Cédric Tournay, CEO of Dailymotion, said: "Japan is a priority market for us with an already strong audience, especially via smartphones. It is the logical next step for Dailymotion to consolidate its presence with a dedicated subsidiary in Japan that will be able to develop new networks and address other local issues."
