German media industry remains on growth path

VPRT, the industry association of Germany's commercial TV and radio broadcasters, expects the domestic media industry to continue growing in 2013.
For radio advertising, the group predicts a turnover growth of around 2.2% in 2013 compared with last year and for TV advertising an increase of around 1.1%. For online advertising, VPRT expects a growth of around 8% while advertising on mobile devices will rise by around 60%.
The teleshopping market is expected to grow by around 3.9% while the combined market of pay-TV and fee-based video-on-demand (VOD) is predicted to increase by around 11.5%.
VPRT expects all market segments to continue growing in 2014, in particular advertising-financed online and mobile offerings as well as pay-TV and fee-based VOD.
