Production company FremantleMedia has announced in Cannes that it has more titles in production than ever before, with a massive 217 currently in the works across 117 territories.
Leading the charge is the long-running game show format Family Feud. Local versions are now produced in 60 territories worldwide. New commissions and re-commissions in 2013 include those from Germany (RTL), the UK (ITV), Russia (RTR) and Indonesia (IVM).
Other successes, according to Fremantle, include the reality series Project Runway from The Weinstein Company which has been taken to 21 territories, and the hit format Farmer Wants a Wife which has ranked as the No 1 show in its time period in Austria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Norway and Sweden, and has travelled to 29 territories.
This year's slate of new formats includes Genealogy Roadshow from Big Mountain Productions, a detective story and emotional journey that uncovers the stories behind our pasts using history and science to dig deep into family secrets.
Also included is BBC ONE's quiz show, Break the Safe, which follows three pairs of contestants as they battle it out over a series of fast-paced rounds.
