The Bulgarian telco Mobiltel has been fined BGN361,863 (€184,977) by the country’s Commission for the Protection of Competition (CPC).
According to Capital, this follows a promotion by the Telekom Austria-backed company in which it offered subscribers a choice of free TV, laptop or phone if they chose a bundled service.
The Bulgarian incumbent BTC received a fine of almost BGN812,000 in February for a similar offence and both are appealing against them.
Mobiltel’s fine is equivalent to 0.05% of its turnover in 2014.
It was also fined BGN440,000, again 0.05% of what was then a higher turnover, in 2013.
