Telekom maintains Hungarian lead
Magyar Telekom remains the leading provider of fixed broadband services in Hungary, claiming over a third of all connections and almost as many as UPC and Digi, its closest rivals, combined.
Data published by the regulator NMHH shows that as of September the incumbent had a market share of 35.7%, followed by UPC with 22% and Digi with 14.1%.
Invitel, the next largest provider, claimed 9.4%. There were a total of 2,390,000 fixed broadband connections in Hungary in September.
Cable accounted for 1,001,955, of which over half (513,889) was via DOCSIS 3.0.
The number of FTTx connections was 380,774, while the xDSL total stood at 779,053.
