Swiss local TV channels move to HD

Swiss local TV channels TeleBärn and Tele M1 have commenced offering their programmes in HD quality.

At launch, the high resolution versions are carried by cable operators UPC Cablecom, Quickline, SASAG, GGA Maur, Ziknet, YetNet and Stadtantenne Baar. Switzerland’s national telco Swisscom will add TeleBärn HD and Tele M1 HD to its IPTV platform Swisscom TV on December 5, 2014.

Tele M1 HDTeleBärn and Tele M1 are part of commercial Swiss media group AZ Medien which also operates nationwide channel TV24 and local channel TeleZüri. TV24 and TeleZüri have been broadcasting in HD quality since May 2014.
