beIN Sports scored big in the US with both the English and Spanish broadcasts of the El Clasico football match between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
beINAccording to Nielsen figures, the game delivered almost 1.5 million viewers for the sports network.
“The appetite for world class soccer continues to grow and nothing demonstrates this better than the viewership numbers for El Clasico. The beIN Sports family of networks aims to give sports fans the best international sporting events available on television and our live streaming platform,” said Yousef Al-Obaidliy, deputy CEO of beIN Media Group.
“After closing out the week with impressive viewership numbers, we want to continue to provide our fans with the best in soccer, wherever they prefer to watch it, and in their preferred language.”
beIN Sports Spanish broadcast of El Clasico scored number one among football telecasts in the whole month of October, delivering an average of 823,000 viewers during the two hours of programming, beating Mexico's Liga MX matches airing on Univision and ESPN's UEFA Champions League programming.
El Clásico, with superstar players including Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, James Rodríguez and Karim Benzema, also delivered great rates for beIN's English broadcast, scoring an average of 663,000 viewers.
Additionally, beIN Sports featured advertising for El Clasico from top brands such as Volkswagen, AT&T, Samsung, Southwest Airlines and Cricket Wireless, which will continue to feature throughout the European soccer season.
