French themed channels distributor Thema TV is launching the OTT offer Le Bouquet Africain La Box TV in Europe, with the exception of France.
This first 100% legal offer for African channels comprises 20 networks coming from 11 French-speaking African countries and will be released on 28 October to audiences in countries including Germany, Italy, Spain and Belgium.
The bouquet uses OTT technology from IP television specialist Alpha Networks SA and has been initiated following the success in France of IPTV package Le Bouquet Africain, which claims 147,000 subscribing households.
Thema says that there is a strong demand across Europe as it homes significant groups of French-language Africain expatriates.
To receive the bouquet of African channels, viewers have to connect their box to a TV, then connect it to the Internet by Wi-Fi or cable.
Three packages will be offered: one month at €14.99 a month plus €75 for the box; six months for €79.99€ plus €75 for the box; and one year including the box free of charge for €179.99.
