New TV studio for Mecca

A new television and photography studio has been opened in the King Abdullah Medical City in the Saudi Arabian city of Mecca.
Opened by Health Minister Dr Abdullah Al Rabeeah, the studio features high definition (HD) cameras and has a plant for producing and directing medical films. It will also be used to capture footage of live events in and around the Muslim Holy City, to be broadcast on Mecca's You Tube channel, according to Arab News.
On his visit, the minister applauded the efforts of the young, technically savvy Saudi nationals who make up the staff of the operation, which houses over seven television and still cameras, along with professional lighting equipment and sound insulation.
Work on the studio began four months ago in order to provide equipment and know-how to cover the current Hajj season, said Yasin Malawi, executive general director, King Abdullah Medical City.
