A+E strengthens Nordic sales

Aiming to better exploit the fourth largest pay-TV market in Europe, the factual and entertainment joint venture between A+E Networks and BSkyB has appointed a new regional director, Nordic distribution.
Reporting to VP of commercial operations, Bakori Davis, Christian Høyer will be responsible for leading the company's affiliate distribution efforts in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland for A+E Networks UK's portfolio of channels, including HISTORY, Crime & Investigation Network, Lifetime, BIO and H2. Before joining A+E Networks UK, Høyer was Nordic sales director of distribution for Discovery Networks Nordic, responsible for sales strategy throughout Scandinavia. Previously he worked as director of distribution and marketing at free-to-air group SBS TV.
The joint venture has channels available in 76 across the UK, Scandinavia, Benelux, Central & Eastern Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, and is available in more than 85 million homes and in 17 languages.
Commenting on the appointment, Davis said: "Christian will play a pivotal role in driving growth of our channel portfolio in the Nordic region, leading our efforts across sales, business development and strategy."
